Thirteen's a prime number, right? So why is thirteen unlucky?
By definition, being prime is awesome. Some of my favorite numbers are prime. Of course, there are those that prefer non-primes - not that there's anything wrong with that - I'm totally cool with it. But primes are where it's at.
Don't humans and aliens try to communicate with prime numbers? On the Farscape episode Through the Looking Glass, an unimaginable alien tries to get the attention of the Moya crew by making groups of scratches on Moya's walls in prime number combinations - 1, 3, 5, 7.
And then there is prime steak, prime time TV, and Amazon Prime.
And let me leave you with this question: if 13 is the unlucky number, why do you only get seven years of bad luck when you break a mirror? Doesn't quite add up, does it?
